About Brilligs Books

"'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe"
-Lewis Carroll

Hi! Welcome to Brillig's Books, premier site for finding rare, out-of-print books operated by Bill and Elga.

Most of his life, Bill has had a book in front of his face. He met his match, Elga, in a library when they bonked heads over a copy machine that was spewing papers in the air. They both loved and collected books till they had tall stacks that bent and swerved towards the ceiling.

It was on a stormy day when they could not find a place to put their teacups, that they decided it was time to let them go to new homes. At that precise moment, a stack began to slip and slide. A book tumbled in front of their feet, and opened to "Jabberwocky," by Lewis Carroll. Bill choked on his tea, and proclaimed, "Let us be Brillig's Books!"

Bill has an abiding interest in Celtica, forts, colonial history, indigenous peoples, and military history. He has developed many national and international contacts in his search for quality antiquarian volumes. His attendance at historical conferences has enabled him to keep up with new ideas in the field. In addition, they both have taken many exciting photographs at historical places and reenactments.

Elga has a passion for fiction and poetry, and enjoys serendipity.
